Virginia H. Pearce

 

 

Virginia gave a presentation in 2011 which wasan informal exploration of some of the themes from her new book, Through His Eyes.

About Virginia:

Virginia Hinckley Pearce was born in Denver, Colorado and reared in Salt Lake City, Utah, the third child of President and Sister Gordon B. Hinckley. She married James R. Pearce in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away in 2009. They are the parents of five daughters and one son, all of whom are married. They have 25 grandchildren.

Sister Pearce served as first counselor in the General Young Women Presidency. She has also served on the Primary General Board and been a ward and stake Relief Society president. Living in the Salt Lake Parleys Stake, she currently is the Personal Progress leader in her ward.

She received a bachelors degree from the University of Utah in History and a master’s degree in Social Work, also from the University of Utah. She has been a therapist in private practice and in a mental health agency. Serving on the editorial committee for Deseret Book Publishing Co., she compiled and edited Glimpses Into the Life and Heart of Marjorie Pay Hinckley. Her last book was A Heart Like His and she is currently involved in several writing projects. She serves as a volunteer in the Church History Dept.

She enjoys reading, hiking, photography and painting.
